Embrace that inner planner in you! You may think that wedding planning isn't your thing but with these tips we hope you feel better about planning your own weddings. The thing that most brides fear is mucking up the wedding. Supposing you're on a budget wedding, a DIY event can cost a whole lot less than if you hired a full time wedding planner.

A Firstly, you need to list down these elements to focus on:

1. Set Goals
2. Research
3. Budget
4. Prioritize
5. Delegate

B Next, come up with the items and tasks you need to prepare for. These items include things like:

1. Wedding gowns

2. Bridal party attire (Bridesmaids, bestmen, flower girls, ring-bearer)

3. Invitations

4. Venue/Catering

5. Flowers

6. DJ

7. Seating arrangements at ceremony and/or reception

8. Wedding cake

9. Wedding favors

10. Transportation

C Set a completion date for each of these categories. You can create an excel planner, draw it out in a notebook, or write it on post-its. Whatever works for you, as long as you're keeping track of the time frame you set. It makes it a lot easier when you plan according to deadlines so that it doesn't get messy and overwhelming.

D Start visiting vendors to see their portfolio of what they have, what they can do and what they have done. Don't be afraid to compare brands, vendors and services because there is a high chance that out of a selection, one will have the service or product you want for the best price. When you're on a budget you can forget about being shy and you deserve to get your money's worth! Explore the market and you'll have an idea of the prices.

E Allocate a budget for every item but be flexible with its flow. If you find yourself at your wits end trying to decide between an expensive wedding gown and an expensive sound system, think carefully which is more important to you and which can be sacrificed.

F Delegate tasks to those who have agreed to help you. Some brides want to supervise every aspect of the wedding planning process, but sometimes time doesn't allow that. Delegate tasks which will cost you too much time or scrap it. You can always call to check or 'hire' someone you trust, like your mother, sister, or best friend to assist you in checking on the delegated tasks (if they have been done, how long it would take, when it'll be ready).
