The great thing about titanium is that its a lightweight yet strong metal. Titanium is about 25% lighter than platinum, and 45% stronger than steel, which explains why its used in aircraft parts and watch cases. Despite all this, titanium wedding rings aren't the best alternative to platinum, white gold or tungsten wedding rings, and here's why:
It feels cheap
One of the best features of a titanium wedding ring is that they are generally quite inexpensive. But here's where the benefits end. Many guys don't like the fact that titanium feels very light on their hand. It's almost as if the ring isn't actually there. However, titanium rings can often be quite masculine looking, and often combine black and silver hews.
You can't really customize it
Titanium rings can't be shrunk, and can only be made larger by shaving from the inside of the ring. So if you go with a titanium wedding band, don't gain any weight.
It's not durable
Many grooms have reported that after scuffing or scratching their titanium rings, they had just purchased tungsten instead.
So buyer beware, because when it comes to titanium, you get what you pay for.
